Permafrost is a yumeship between Bucky Barnes + my self insert Nikita Ruskova. I'm highly nonsharing with him, and we've been together for 9 years now! I yume with every Bucky iteration, all Bucky's out there!!Nikita is treated more as an OC though, as I like creating stories and dynamics. Please don't take anything he does/says as a reflection on me, he's dramatized for entertainment purposes. Having said that, his story is heavily rooted in my own experiences/life. I do not appreciate any comments on him being "too much" narrative wise. Nikita's dynamic with Bucky is of romantic nature 𖹭.

CUT OFF ONE HEAD

Meeting in the grips of HYDRA, Bucky and Nikita form a bond of necessity. Taking care of eachother's psyche in order to stay sane, as the place they're in isn't exactly a loving environment. Working as his handler, Nikita's role in the organization being to "keep the soldier in line". That doesn't go to plan though, as Nikita clings further and further onto the Sergeant.2014, Project Insight is reactivated by Alexander Pierce. Tasked with taking out threats to the world. The Winter Soldier and his handler undertake the mission tearing SHIELD down from the ground up, going for the head first. After the (attempted) assassination of Nicholas Fury, the man-hunt for Captain America is on.

ANOTHER TAKES ITS PLACE

After HYDRA was abolished, the pair ended up stranded and alone in an (un)familiar place. Bucharest was meant to be a fresh start, letting James click the pieces together and understand what of his memory is missing. Following Captain America and his entourage, Nikita finds his partner in a run-down apartment complex. He watches the group for a while, assessing the dangers of proceeding. Using the chaos of a police raid attack to his advantage, he finally faces his long lost partner. Seeing who cracks first, what words are exchanged, the pair end up in a standoff. The handler, wanting Bucky to come back "home" with him. And the soldier, confused on what place Nikita holds in his memories. Unstoppable force, meet immovable object.
